About Crime Stoppers

McAllen Crime Stoppers

What is McAllen Crime Stoppers?

McAllen Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit organization built on a solid partnership between law enforcement, the media, and a team of volunteers working together to help solve crime. The organization encourages citizens to aid us in solving crimes, by offering cash rewards, and assures anonymity to those who furnish valuable information leading to the arrest of criminals.  McAllen Crime Stoppers is the last “go to weapon” when law enforcement reaches a dead end.

For the last five years, McAllen Crime Stoppers has organized “Viva McAllen Streets” in efforts to promote health and fitness for the entire Rio Grande Valley residents. Thanks to our community partners, the City of McAllen, McAllen Police Department, H-E-B, IBC Bank and others, we are able to ensure everyone has an opportunity to partake in this fun-filled, health & fitness, one-day community event. One of the goals for Run, Ride & Share Campaign is to educate the community about safe streets for runners, cyclists and motorists. Something new that’s  been added to the event is the “Back to School” Fair. Children from the area will have an opportunity to get “FREE” school supplies. Parents must register their children for the kids run to receive their ticket to obtain the complimentary school supplies.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 5th at the McAllen Convention Center, 700 Convention Center Blvd, at 7:00 a.m. For more information, please click on the tab “About The Event”.
